Clarke Underground has been contracting for over 25 years in the field of Underground Utility Installations. Our central location in the Manawatu/Wanganui region means we’re well positioned to serve the entire North Island.
We offer all types of underground construction services, from Mole Ploughing and Directional Drilling to Rock Sawing, Thrusting, Trenching, River Crossings and Duct & Cable Laying. Our Installation expertise covers Telecommunications, Power, Gas, Water/Sewerage and Drainage.

Gary Clarke had 10 years experience in Telecom as a foreman in underground works before establishing Clarke Underground (known then as Gary Clarke Contracting Limited) in 1989. In the last 25 years, Gary has installed underground services for many major clients across New Zealand.

Greg has 30-years experience in the Telecommunications industry working for Telecom, Connectel, and Downer. In the last 10 years he has managed many of the Telecom New Zealands’s/Chorus’ projects in the Manawatu/Horowhenua region as Build Manager for Downer Engineering.
