Turitea Project
CLARKE UNDERGROUND
About the Project
This project involved the installation and commissioning of a new 33kV underground Sub Transmission line/Circuit from Powerco Linton Sub Station to Powerco Turitea Sub Station.
Clarke Underground was subcontracted by Downer NZ to undertake the project. This was a direct bury (trenched) installation of the primary cable with the added complication of a portion of drill shot duct installation. Directional Drilled approx. 100 metres of 3 x 150mm and 2 x 50mm ducts at a 37% degree angle up the bank.
Trenching works included sand bedding (100mm) and another layer of sand cable cover (100mm) then ground compaction and grassed.
